Saul Green, teenage triathlete
Seventeen-year-old Saul is one of the best teenage triathletes in Britain and has a great future ahead of him. He swims, cycles or runs every day to get better at his sport, and hopes one day to win gold at the Olympic Games. 'My parents think I'll be good enough to take part, but I know I'Il only improve with their help,' says Saul.
Saul has raced in Australia, Russia and China, and last year he lived in the USA and trained with a coach there. Unfortunately, he missed lots of school, so he decided to return to the UK. 'I was lucky because I wanted to go to university, and my teachers gave me the extra lessons I needed,' he explains.
Saul gets up at 6 a.m. every morning so he can go for a run before school, but he doesn't mind doing this. He makes sure he gets back in time for a healthy breakfast of fruit and cereal. He thinks it's a pity that he has to go to the gym every evening, but he knows it helps him stay fit.
Saul often goes on long bike rides. On his last ride he planned to do 50 kilometres, but he had to dо more because he took the wrong road and didn't know where he was. He used the map on his
phone to get back, but it was still very late when he finally got home.
